One Year In: Reflecting on What Local Roots Really Means

6–9 minutes

A year ago, Heather Tyre Home and Land Group opened with a simple promise: Local Roots. Real Results.

Three hundred and sixty-five days in, it is time to talk about what that promise has actually looked like — in closed transactions, in families served, in a community that gave every reason to show up and do the work.

This is not a press release. It is a thank-you letter to Wayne County, the Golden Isles, and every client who trusted Heather Tyre Home and Land Group with something as significant as their home.

A First Year That Proved the Model

In real estate, a first year is a proving ground. It is where you find out whether your values hold up under pressure — whether clients trust you when the process gets complicated, and whether the community you have spent your life in will meet you where you are when you decide to build something of your own.

Every one of those questions got answered the right way.

Heather Tyre Home and Land Group was built on a belief that real estate in South Georgia deserves something better than a transactional experience. Whether the client was a first-time buyer navigating a home loan for the very first time, a veteran using VA benefits to purchase a home that was truly theirs, an investor evaluating a short-term rental opportunity on St. Simons Island, or a family making the difficult decision to sell a home full of memories — the approach has been the same. Show up fully. Listen first. Advise honestly. Deliver results.

That standard has not wavered once in 365 days.

By the Numbers — But More Than Numbers

The stats from year one say something real:

  • 5-Star Rated — Consistently recognized with 5-star reviews on Google and Zillow by buyers and sellers alike
  • Over $3.45 million in total real estate value closed
  • Homes and land sold across all price points and property types throughout Southeast Georgia
  • Active member in good standing with the Georgia Association of Realtors, adhering to the highest ethical standards

But the moments that mattered most this year were not measured in dollars.

It was the first-time buyer who called after closing just to say she finally had a place that felt like hers. The veteran who did not know he qualified for a VA loan until a first conversation at the kitchen table. The seller who had been putting off listing for three years because the process felt overwhelming — who walked away from closing feeling like she had been taken care of every step of the way.

“If you are looking for an agent that is familiar with the area and market, who will go the extra mile for you, it’s Heather. She is so easy to communicate with, very responsive and reliable; with a heart of gold and first class all the way around.”

— Ettina Jordan

How Heather Gets Results for Sellers

One thing year one confirmed: sellers in Wayne County and across Southeast Georgia are leaving value on the table when they work with agents who do not know this market from the inside.

Heather’s four-step process for sellers is built around that reality:

  1. Free Home Valuation — A comprehensive market analysis of your home’s true value, not a national algorithm’s best guess
  2. Strategic Pricing and Prep — Price it right from day one. Heather guides sellers on staging, repairs, and presentation to maximize appeal
  3. Professional Marketing — MLS listing, professional photography, social media campaigns, and targeted digital ads that put the property in front of qualified buyers
  4. Negotiate and Close — Heather negotiates fiercely on your behalf and manages every detail through to a smooth closing

If you have been thinking about selling — whether this year or next — the best first step is a free home valuation.

Palmetto Place — Building Something New in Jesup

One of the standout developments of year one is the launch of Palmetto Place — an exclusive custom-built duplex development in the heart of Jesup, Georgia.

Palmetto Place was born from a simple observation: Wayne County needed quality new construction that fit the way people actually live here. Not a cookie-cutter development imported from somewhere else. Something thoughtful. Something Southern. Something built with pride.

Palmetto Place duplexes work beautifully as primary residences, investment properties, or short-term rentals — and the response from the community has reflected exactly that range of interest. Wayne County rewards authenticity, and Palmetto Place is an authentic investment in the future of this town.

If Palmetto Place has been on your radar, this is the right time to take a closer look.

Community Rooted — Because South Georgia Is Home

A long time resident of Wayne County, Heather has always said that South Georgia is not just a market — it is home. Year one confirmed what that means in practice.

This year included continued involvement with the Wayne County Exchange Club (20+ years of membership), the Kiwanis Club of Wayne County, and board service with the Boys and Girls Club of the Altamaha Area. Heather also volunteered regularly at Tabitha’s Place soup kitchen and supported Fair Haven, the local shelter for women and children. In early 2026, she traveled to the Dominican Republic with Connection Church of Hinesville to deliver hygiene supplies and assist families in need.

This is not a list of accomplishments. It is an explanation of who is showing up when you call. When you work with Heather Tyre Home and Land Group, you are working with someone who is invested in this community in every way she knows how to be. The people of Wayne County and the Golden Isles trusted her with their homes this year. The least she can do is give everything back to the place that made her.

Year Two Starts Now

To every client who trusted Heather this year: thank you. To every neighbor who sent a referral, left a kind word, or stopped her at the grocery store to say something encouraging: thank you. To Wayne County, which supported this business from day one in ways that were not expected and will never be taken for granted: thank you.

Year two starts today.

The goals are simple: serve more families, close more transactions, keep Palmetto Place moving forward, and show up every single day with the same care and commitment that year one demanded — because that standard is the only one worth keeping.

If you are thinking about buying, selling, or investing in Southeast Georgia, Heather would love to be your first call.

Here is to year two. — Heather
